St. Rose of Lima and St. Martin de Porres were both Dominican brothers and sisters. They met each other at the ages of nine and fifteen. Martin became a lay Dominican, and Rose attended daily Mass at his chapel. When Rose entered the Dominican order, she helped Martin run the chapel and assisted him with prayers and penances. They supported each other through trials in life. They are interred at the Convent of Santo Domingo in Lima.
